뉴미디어 종사자들과 신문기업 종사자들간 연봉 비교표가 공개됐다. 한국이 아니라 미국 상황이지만, 시사하는 바가 있어 그대로 공개한다.
대체로 연봉격차가 크지 않다는 점이 놀랍다. 국내 신문사 및 닷컴 종사자간의 연봉격차는 상당하다. 특히 닷컴 내부에서 기획자 및 엔지니어(개발자, 디자이너)간의 격차도 있다.
물론 일부 신문사(닷컴)는 오히려 역진구조가 있기도 하지만, 대체로 신문기자들은 우월적 지위를 갖고 업무적으로, 관성적으로 닷컴 및 뉴미디어 종사자들과 거리감을 두고 있다.
보다 창조적이고 유연한 저널리스트를 확보하는 일은 종이신문 편집국, 닷컴 뉴스팀 등 특정 기업과 부서를 가리지 않고 일어나야 한다.
그런 점에서 국내 언론이 가야할 길은 아직 멀다.
